Hi Jim, As I departed the hotel for the airport, I was about as sick as I had ever been in my life. However, I do believe it would be better to make a decision base upon data we know or have such as cost of staff, and relocating support equipment to another location other than HQ. We should also factor into the equation the number that would be displaced by the winter weather. I for one like to met with Hq staff and employees to work out some of the things that have come up in the Delta Division. I favor holding the meeting in a much warmer location than HQ in the colder months. Finally, maybe we should study the feasibility of moving the meeting dates to a much warmer month and continue to hold it at HQ. Henry R. I've always been in favor of Hartford for the January meeting for the reasons stated by the others. However, thinking back on the January meetings in other places, I'm ready to favor that approach. It's not good for board newcomers, but I think the rest of us can keep adequate pulse of Newington by judiciously utilizing our July time. As mentioned by Mike it would get us out amongst the proletariat. Remember the fun receptions in Memphis and Houston? 73 Bruce

January Meeting

It wasn't all that long ago that the Board decided it was time to control expenses and eliminate the Vice Directors from attending both of the Board meetings at League expense. It would interesting to see what the projected cost would be for moving the board meeting to another location other than the Newington area versus staying at Newington. Wonder if Barry could give us some estimates? While it is true that individual cities in northern parts of the country could suffer bad weather that would adversely impact travel plans for about one or two who would need to travel, a temporary move would greatly diminish the likelihood that each and every traveler would be disadvantaged as occurred last January.
