Does not seem to function with other than "current" androids. My S8 is not compatible according to the website. App does not even appear in the store. I guess because of the non compatibility. Android is up to version 12 now. Your S8 may run Android 7. Some say the S8 can run v11, so check around but you may need greater capacity and the SD card expansion is only for video and pictures. I just got dragged into buying a new Samsung S22 Ultra last week only because of similar issues of an old version of the operating system and could no longer upgrade my trusty and reliable S-5. But now I have 512 Gb SSD in a handheld device. Who knew?
