To ODV: This is a heads up. K1DCA and I have created a re-organized set of Standing Orders. As you will see, on the NEDIV website, I gave him all the credit. As the SO's are now readable, and the 119 deleted SO’s have been removed, I suspect you'll find some interesting things in them. I intend to submit a draft set of SO's to the Legal Structure Committee in August (this means you, Director Stratton). The next set will continue to be organized by subject, but will also be edited for clarity. At that point, the Legal Structure Committee can edit further and work on the project until the SO's are ready to submit to the full Board in January as a replacement for the SO's which I've come to know are technically called "a hot mess." (Thanks for the nomenclature, Director Norris.) Note: I have no doubt that someone may try to claim that I'm using NEDIV.arrl.org to influence the outcome of the upcoming election. My response is that it is quite a stretch to claim that publishing a Table of Contents to the Standing Orders is likely to influence the outcome of an election. Furthermore, though we are in the "campaign period," I am not required to STOP WORK as a Director. I was working on this project last winter, and I intend to see it through. I think we eliminated one SO this past weekend. When the minutes come out, I’ll update the attached to reflect that. Fred Hopengarten, Esq. ODV, at the request of Paul Gilbert, I was asked to forward the following announcement that will be hitting the inboxes of the Section Managers, and Section Emergency Coordinators shortly. 73.. Mark, HDX snip- New Online Form 4 SEC reporting tool goes live! As the first component of new software intended to replace ARES Connect, which was sunset Thursday,July 15th, a new form 4a reporting tool for Section Emergency Coordinators (SECs) has been developed for electronic submission of their monthly reports. The new online form allows each SEC to enter monthly participation totals by category for his/her Section in a web browser each month and then - with a single “click” - submit the summary to HQ. There is no longer a need to email a copy of the report to Newington. Submitted data from each SEC will now be input directly into the reports database, eliminating manual data entry at HQ. SECs will be able to locally print their reports for their records, if they wish. SECs will be receiving an email link with instructions for creating a username and password to log into the application, complete the form, and access additional functions. Paul Z.
