Dear Officers, Directors and Vice Directors, I am pleased to inform you that we have finalized the job description for Development Manager and will be posting it later today. As I reported, the Development staff is quite capable of handling the day-to-day duties required to operate the office. I am looking for a Manager to develop and implement strategic plans to maximize funding from donors, make connections to major donors and cultivate those relationships, develop and effectively manage major campaigns, and also manage the office and develop its human resources. I am looking for someone with five years in non-profit development field with proven professional fundraising experience. Grant writing experience a plus. Amateur Radio licensee or experience in related technical and/or public service fields is preferred. I considered taking Amtrak from NYC but the problem is getting to NYC and finding a place to park and keep my car. In the end it was just easier to drive up. I can fly to BDL to the tune of $4000. From MMU airport which is almost walking distance from work. Yeah, no. Fred, I'm glad you raised this as I was going to but I'm just now getting to emails today. BTW, it took Holly and me 16 hours to get home. It was one of those trips that goes into the Board meeting travel chapters. And we are still looking for our luggage. (hi) Anyway, folks, we spent more time on editing motions on the floor than I ever recall. That includes typos. We've got to do a better job next time. In addition, motions presented in advance can be edited for typos and format by the Secretary, reducing the need for "on the fly" error correction during the meeting? This process will allow us to engage in such activity almost without limit, while at the same time freeing up time for more substantive motions. I think we can do both honors and substance. Mike, the Committee was me, Howard and Ed Spinella. Ed reviewed Minute 35 and provided the report, but with the EC also looking at Articles/Bylaws it would be good to have this coordinated with the EC effort, too. Hi Rick, 1 - the motion passed in January referred to a committee to be appointed by the President. Who are the members of this committee ?2 - the purpose of the committee (if indeed that committee was ever established) was to identify changes to Articles and Bylaws that would enforce the intent of the motion. The letter from Connecticut Counsel could be viewed as going beyond that. Just what was the question to which Connecticut Counsel was responding? I'm so glad that we could recognize these truly senior hams. Ted, K2JMY in particular is a treasure in the Hudson Division and the Eastern New York section. He is also a WW2 Veteran and was interviewed at West Point about his services. So now that the motions are passed, what's next? I want to ensure that I can make it worth their while. Is there a plaque, and if not, can I have one made anyway and present it? Or even just a certificate? My understanding is that there are some benefits to turning 100 as a long time league member. There is another ham in ENY (have to figure out their secret in that section) who will be turning 100 soon. I'll present that one in January. 73 Ria, N2RJ
