The email will ask all members to write their U.S. Senators in support of H.R. 1301. The email will link them to the RallyCongress application which simplifies the process of contacting their legislators. A letter to their Senators is provided at the link, and it is attached for your perusal. I ask that all Directors follow-up with a “call to arms” to your Divisions directly. You can use Rick’s email as a basis, write your own, or I could provide you with a template if you’d prefer. We are following up after yesterday’s passage in the House. Prior to the release of the Rally Congress tool to all our members, could there be a press release for each of us to personalize and distribute to our divisions to expect that information, and to encourage all to participate? Good Evening, The Amateur Radio Parity Act, H.R. 1301, is scheduled for a vote by the House of Representatives this coming Monday, September 12th. We believe that it will pass on suspension and move to the Senate for consideration. Chris and I have been having meeting with Senate staffers the past few weeks in preparation for this vote and will continue working to complete our goal of reaching out to all 100 members of the Senate during this current working period. The Senate is scheduled to remain in session through the first week in October, however, it is more likely that they will end much sooner and go on hiatus until after election day. If the Bill is not taken up by then, it would have to wait for the “lame duck” session after the election. Ladies & Gentlemen: Two items to report this week: 1. The 7-8th Grade Basic Electronics curriculum created by Nathan Mc Cray, as reported earlier, was completed and delivered to HQ on schedule on 8/30/16. The curriculum goes into beta testing at Grace Academy in Hartford this fall, and it will be circulated to a select group of Teachers Institute participants for a critical peer review. An edited and revised ARRL TI curriculum will be available to TI graduates to take back to their classrooms beginning next year. 1. At the six-month anniversary of our first Podcast, "The Doctor is In" with Joel Hallas and Steve Ford registered more than 112,000 down loads to date. The series has an average of 8,000 unique listeners. The sponsor, DX Engineering, renewed its sponsorship contract for six additional months. While we had virtually no basis for forecasting at the outset, this level of response significantly exceeded our optimistic expectation of 5,000 listeners. Have a pleasant weekend.
