Hi all: Mike has done a great job this week keeping the burners turned up on ODV about The Amateur Radio Parity Act. It's trilling to see the response from the Amateur Radio Community. I don't know about you, but it makes me proud to see the rally across the country. But we can't expect people to do something we are not doing ourselves. Only about half of the Divisions have written their Divisions and a very small number of SM's have followed through as well. Folks, we can do better than that. Please, take some time to reflect back over this journey. Think how hard we've worked. Think how far we've come. Think of what we owe our members and the entire Amateur Radio Community. You are leaders. You wouldn't have been elected to this Board if you weren't. Now is the time for all of us to step up and set an example. As we approach the end of the first 72 hours, we have seen a response so far that has brought over 31,400 emails to the U.S. Senate. The initial response is slowing, and so we now need all Division Directors to reach out to their membership and push the procrastinators to the RallyCongress link. I’d like to thank the following Divisions for already reaching out to their Divisions: Dakota Great Lakes Midwest New England Northwestern Roanoke Hudson (of course) For everyone else, please get on the ball and keep those cards and letters coming. If you haven’t already done so, please write your members today asking for their participation in the email campaign, and let your Section Managers know that they should send an email to their Sections after Saturday but by Monday asking for their support. I sent a message on the need to Senate passage of the Parity Act to the NE Division last night. This morning I urged NE Section Managers to send out a reminder before the end of the week. My local Congressman already has a message out to his constituents saying good things. https://courtney.house.gov/media-center/press-releases/courtney-kinzinger-a… How's everyone else doing? To All, The Roanoke Division is on board; Letter sent to division, to SM’s for follow-up, and thanks given to members who signed the Representative letters in our letter writing campaign. I then re-read Mike’s post about doing this on Thursday. I guess I suffer from premature publication; it’s never happened before……… J I did add this part to my note: As elected officials of the ARRL, we are permitted only to reach out to members. However, the use of this Rally Congress web link can be used by anyone who desires to support this legislation. Good Evening ODV, Now that the first salvo has been fired with Rick’s email to the membership, it is your turn. Please write your members via the mass-email capability and send it out on Thursday. That gives us 2 days to recharge the batteries and not overload the members. It would also be good for the Director’s to reach out to their Section Managers and ask them to write their members this coming Monday (9/19). By spacing the emails we should get more exposure over time. It would be a good idea to thank the members who already wrote when you’re asking those who haven’t yet done so to participate. By the way, Dan Henderson reports that after just 4 hours of going live, there have been a total of 9,000 emails sent by the membership covering all 100 Senate offices. This is just the beginning. Once again, feel free to use the letter Rick sent as a basis, or write your own, or ask me for a template to use.
