Current Communications claims it has overcome the problem of RF radiation by power lines - though they don't call it that and will not explain it. Looks to me like more BS for the masses. 12 JUN, 2004 - 2235 CDT Looks like it's big enough for you to start a three house neighborhood back-up electric utility. Might make enough to at least pay for the fuel... We had another mini-power outage very early this morning - only lasted about an hour and a half and my radio room stayed dry. This time around we have had another 4 plus inches of rain from midnite Thursday through 0330 this morning. If this keeps up, the northern Illinois cash crop will be rice instead of corn and soybeans. 73 - Dick, W9GIG

Chris, Hollow State as it relates to radio is a time-honored and revered term assigned to radios whose effectiveness is dependent upon the presence of multiple hollow shells, primarily of glass. These function by giving added "oomph" (technical term used only with attorneys) much as baseball bats that have been hollowed out add "oomph" to baseball flight paths. The principle difference between the two is that in the case of radio Hollow State, the interior of the shells is filled with essentially nothing; whereas, in the case of the baseball bat Hollow State, the space is filled with cork. I had the same procedure done about a year ago. It's not very invasive, not very risky, and has a very high success rate. I'm not sure I'd even call it surgery as the only cutting they do is nicking a few arteries so they can insert catheters. Atrial flutter is basically a circular electrical pattern that forms inside the atrium of the heart. What they do is run some catheters in, find the right spot, and then use an RF probe to burn one row of cells, shutting down the circuit (just like cutting a wire). Barry's docs are perhaps more conservative than mine were. They sent me home the same day and I was able to work the next day. It's really that easy.
