All, Dave Sumner asked me to work with Alan Shark, president and CEO of the Power Line Communications Association to remind him of his promise to remove the March 30 letter to the Wall Street Journal saying "there simply zero empirical evidence that power line communications causes harmful interference with ham radio frequencies," from the PLCA Web site at http://www.plca.net/newsandevents.wsjresponse.htm. No. 2191-W June 16, 2004 NOTICE OF SECOND MEETING ALL DIRECTORS: In compliance with the requirements of the Articles of Association and the relevant provisions of the Bylaws, the 2004 Second Meeting of the Board of Directors of The American Radio Relay League, Incorporated, is hereby called for 8:30 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time, Friday, July 16, 2004, at the Windsor/Hartford Airport Marriott, 28 Day Hill Rd., Windsor, Connecticut. Arrangements have been made for a group dinner on the Thursday evening preceding: attitude adjustment at 5:30 P.M. and dinner at 6:00 P.M. Other group meals are Friday lunch and dinner, and Saturday lunch. We expect the meeting will conclude by dinnertime on Saturday. Honorary vice presidents, directors emeritus, past presidents, and past directors are invited to attend in observer status at personal expense. Vice directors are invited to attend, with expenses for attendance at one Board Meeting per year to be chargeable to the Board Meeting account. Vice Directors are encouraged to attend the Annual meeting whenever possible. Vice Directors who attended the January Board Meeting in the role of Vice Director are invited to attend the July Meeting and to join the Board members for the contracted group meals on Thursday evening, Friday noon and evening, and Saturday noon, but otherwise to attend at their own expense. Vice Directors who did not attend the January Board Meeting or who attended in the role of Acting Director are authorized to attend the July Meeting at League expense. Cash advances are available upon request for those traveling at League expense. Transportation from and to Bradley International Airport will be provided by Marriott. There is a Marriott courtesy phone located in the baggage claim area. An accommodation form is enclosed; please return the form or respond by email as soon as possible to Lisa Kustosik, KA1UFZ, at HQ. Accompanying spouses are invited to attend breakfast and dinner with the Board family. The tentative agenda for the meeting will be distributed electronically shortly. There are no known proposals for amendments to the Articles of Association and Bylaws. It is requested that insofar as possible, motions to be submitted at the meeting be prepared in advance in writing so that a copy can be handed to the Secretary at the time of presentation. It is important that the motion as handed to the Secretary be the same as that submitted for Board consideration. While we will have word-processing and duplicating capability at the meeting site, this should not replace advance preparation. If you wish to have a proposed motion circulated in advance, either send it to me as soon as possible or post it on the Board's electronic remailer. Please also note Standing Order 30: "Each Director offering a motion requiring the expenditure of funds for implementation shall include with the motion his [or her] estimate of the costs involved and the suggested method of funding those costs." [ARRL-ODV:10742] Update from Barry

Here's an update on Barry Shelley, straight from the horse's mouth. Dave I'm out of the hospital and everything went very well. (Actually, they let me go Saturday around noon.) Heart is back in rhythm, blood pressure is 106/70 and pulse is around 70 as well. Haven't had those kinds of numbers in a long time. The doctor did want me to "lay low" for 72 hours, more over concerns about bleeding from the tiny incisions that anything heart related so I should be back in the office Tuesday morning. I may be out one afternoon later in the week for a follow up with the cardiologist but will know that Monday or Tuesday.
