H.R. 81Thanks, Dave. In reading the new bill, it parallels but does not mirror the wording of S.1755, which passed the Senate last winter by unanimous consent. The dates are merely updated from the version Ms. Jackson-Lee introduced two years ago. Although the House and Senate bills look essentially the same to us mortals, there was obviously some language that had to be reconciled, leading to the opportunity for the Energy & Commerce Committee to hold both bills hostage and kill them. Did anyone suggest to the Congresswoman that she incorporate the Senate bill wording so as to obviate the need for such reconciliation this time around? If not, might we suggest that the companion Senate bill (not yet introduced, I presume) adopt the wording of H.R.81 for the same reason? Or are we dealing with the not-invented-here-and I-want-my-name-on-it syndrome? 73, Marty Marty Woll N6VI Vice-Director, ARRL Southwestern Division Ass't DEC, ARESLAX BCUL 15 & Training Officer, LAFD ACS CERT III ----- Original Message ----- From: Sumner, Dave, K1ZZ To: arrl-odv Sent: Monday, January 10, 2011 12:36 PM Subject: [arrl-odv:19541] H.R. 81 John Chwat reports that Rep.
