Warehouse Supervisor Steve Capodicasa reports that the shipment headed to Dayton was assembled this week; 11 pallets supporting 20+ ARRL booths and exhibits. Jackie Ferreira reports that the new spring/summer publications and products catalog is expected in from the printer next week. A flyer promoting the second edition of Storm Spotting and Amateur Radio is being prepared to mail to purchasers of the first edition. ARRL's newest e-book, Digital Storage Oscilloscopes for Ham Radio by Eric Nichols, KL7AJ, is now available for Kindle from Amazon. Diane Petrilli and Yvette Vinci continue to work hard at planning for the new membership processing and recordkeeping system. ARRL has earned $13,103 through April for 2016 royalties attributed to the ARRL Visa Credit Card. There are approximately 2,600 open cards. Ed Hare will show this to Tom Gallagher when the first page is complete, to discuss how ARRL may be able use the Wiki model for more than just its on-line forums. National Parks on the Air The National Park Service has responded to Mike Gruber's request for a special use permit to operate a NPOTA station at the Springfield Armory. Our operation will be on the 17th of June. A second operation will be planned for a weekend sometime during the summer or fall. RFI Mike Gruber conducted an investigation an RFI complaint at a funeral home in Rocky Hill. Mike was able to confirm that the noise appears to originate from inside the funeral home. The noise is also consistent with an arcing source. Unfortunately the funeral home director doesn't want to do anything about it until August. Mike will be attempting to follow up on this before Dayton. Field Services & Radiosport Reported by Dave Patton, NN1N DXCC Paper/Fieldcheck Processing Time 2 Weeks Logbook Processing Time 1-2 Days W1AW Thanks to members of the Candlewood Amateur Radio Association for operating W1AW during the 2016 New England QSO Party (NEQP). They made 306 QSOs, on 40 and 20 meters using CW and SSB, for an initial claimed score of 20,900. Joe Carcia processed regular QSL card requests. He constructed antenna patch panels for use with the ENG van. Joe also constructed and ran patch cables between the panels. Scott Gee hosted the CARA members during NEQP. He also worked on fast and slow code practice files for the week. Scott also processed some VUCC endorsements and one certificate2. Field Organization/Public Service Team Radio amateurs from Michigan, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Oregon and Maryland completed requirements this past week to become Official Observers. A very good amount of interest! Another prospective Official Observer was sent information. A report of an unknown pulse type of signal on 14.290 MHz continues to be investigated. Chuck Skolaut monitored a webinar on the 60 meter Cascadia Rising Exercise. Questions that Chuck handled included the business use of amateur radio, printing an official license copy, antenna zoning, and overseas operation. Leona Adams reports that North Dakota Section Manager Lynn Nelson, W0ND, has been nominated to run for another term of office. Charles Motes, K1DFS, of Plainville, Connecticut, has been nominated to run for the next term of Connecticut Section Manager. The new terms of office for both North Dakota and Connecticut Sections start in October. Nominations for this particular Section Manager election cycle are due at Headquarters by June 10. Steve Ewald completed editorial work and proof reading for the 2015 ARRL Simulated Emergency Test Results article that's scheduled to be published in July QST.
