Jim: Pactor III is a wideband data mode approx 2khz wide. It can only go in the CW portion of the bands by FCC rule. This situation could cause Narrowband digital modes and cw ops some problem. Perhaps a way around this would be to get the FCC to allow wide band digital modes in the phone bands. There are already wideband image modes in the phone bands. Why not data?
