[arrl-odv:35037] Fwd: [Arrl-ariss:1017] Fwd: TI2 ISS exercise

A bit of followup from Rosalie about the "TI encounter". Earlier SSTV was via the Russian ISS segment. The Russian SSTV set-up developed a problem in late 2023; they hope to launch a replacement part this fall. So far, 57 images are posted on ARISS's SSTV Gallery -- see https://www.spaceflightsoftware.com/ARISS_SSTV/index.php Some other images may still be submitted by folks. Our team reviews everything prior to posting in the Gallery just in case someone submits an unrelated and offensive image, since we know youths visit our Gallery. Our SSTV survey captured this data on participants, so far: 54 unique hams or space enthusiasts, 1 student at high school level or below, 5 educators high school level or below, 6 college or higher-level professors. Also I spotted an SWL call sign, an XE, a Canadian, and Cuban—although they may have been visiting in the US...you never know just how people will type in their info. Mark, thank you again so much for sharing these photos so that I can include images with my report blurb to NASA and ISS National Lab. 73, Rosalie K1STO ARISS ------------------------------ *From:* Arrl-ariss <arrl-ariss-bounces@reflector.arrl.org> on behalf of Mark J Tharp via Arrl-ariss <arrl-ariss@reflector.arrl.org> *Sent:* Wednesday, July 26, 2023 8:04 PM *To:* arrl-ariss@reflector.arrl.org <arrl-ariss@reflector.arrl.org> *Subject:* [Arrl-ariss:1017] Fwd: [arrl-odv:35027] TI2 ISS exercise ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: *Minster, David NA2AA (CEO)* <dminster@arrl.org> Date: Wed, Jul 26, 2023 at 1:35 PM Subject: [arrl-odv:35027] TI2 ISS exercise To: arrl-odv@reflector.arrl.org <arrl-odv@reflector.arrl.org> Pictures of the event: Preparing for the pass with their homebrewed antennas Steve being interviewed by ABC News Last minute checking on the pass One of the TI2 participants being interviewed NBC News setting up to interview Steve and the decoding of the images _______________________________________________ arrl-odv mailing list arrl-odv@reflector.arrl.org https://reflector.arrl.org/mailman/listinfo/arrl-odv
