Bud is acting as the defacto Committee Chair. Perhaps he can get back with him? We are currently sending our top candidates to Bud to compile a final list of recommendations that can be used by the staff at HQ. I do think the candidate's inquiry should have been directed to the ARRL personnel staff, not either the BoD or the Selection Committee. Least of all, the Selection Committee should not be placed in the position to respond to questions from candidates, particularly during the selection process. I wouldn’t. I actually am hiring several at my day job and we are prohibited from contacting candidates directly as it may be viewed as a recommendation and disqualifies me from interviewing. We received his application about a month ago. It's in the Dropbox folder. When it was received, Monique would have acknowledged receipt. Individual members of the committee should not be having conversations with applicants. I don't interpret Fred's forwarding of the email as an endorsement or a request for the committee to contact W8ZY.
