[arrl-odv:30491] E-signatures motion

To the Board, Attached is my motion to amend the by-laws to allow e-signatures. Thanks Ria N2RJ

Not everyone has or wants to purchase full copies of Adobe or similar programs to be able to send documents for tracable signatures. All we need is to send out a form. Let then sign scan and return it. If there is a question the submitter can request the signer send him the original which he can send in.Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone -------- Original message --------From: rjairam@gmail.com Date: 6/30/20 1:38 PM (GMT-06:00) To: ODV <arrl-odv@arrl.org> Subject: [arrl-odv:30491] E-signatures motion To the Board,Attached is my motion to amend the by-laws to allow e-signatures.ThanksRiaN2RJ

Ria: I'm sorry if I misunderstood your question earlier, but the collection of signatures via electronic means by the candidate is what needs to be addressed. The rules still require all the paperwork to be completed and filed together. That's what I was suggesting when you told me that the program could produce a .pdf file to send in with the nominating package. I didn't envision the ARRL playing any role in the original collection of the signatures. Or am I misunderstanding something? --Barry, N1VXY -----Original Message----- From: arrl-odv <arrl-odv-bounces@reflector.arrl.org> On Behalf Of rjairam@gmail.com Sent: Tuesday, June 30, 2020 2:39 PM To: arrl-odv <arrl-odv@arrl.org> Subject: [arrl-odv:30491] E-signatures motion To the Board, Attached is my motion to amend the by-laws to allow e-signatures. Hi Barry, This motion does not change that. The candidate still collects the signatures. Whether or not ARRL owns the e-sign account does not change that. The candidate still will pass around the document to be signed, and the signatures will be collected at the request of the candidate. Therefore the candidate is still collecting the signatures.
