[arrl-odv:31190] ARES group publishes book?

So the proceeds from this go directly to the ARRL as ARES is a league program right? I'm wondering if the title of this story should be changed so it does not imply that the ARES group actually did this. Rather three individuals who happen to belong to this ARES group did? ?? Discuss.. Mark, HDX [image: image.png]

Since these efforts (and no ARES efforts outside HQ) are not funded, why should profits from this go to ARRL? The Alachua County ARES group and the authors personally spend thousands of dollars of their own money to document their considerable efforts recruiting volunteers, conducting training and documenting this effort. All who are interested may attend. Gordon Gibby has been publishing this for years and has never made a profit. He is the de facto leader of ARES in Florida, a retired MD and professor of Medicine at UFL. He is one of my Assistant Directors. None of these people are paid. I know them all three. Perhaps we could pick up next year’s publication as an ARRL book, subsidize their training and take the “profit” next year? That was a tongue in cheek comment Mickey. I still question the title of the story however. Mark, HDX On Fri, Oct 16, 2020 at 11:41 AM Mickey Baker <fishflorida@gmail.com> wrote:
