Since these efforts (and no ARES efforts outside HQ) are not funded, why should profits from this go to ARRL?
The Alachua County ARES group and the authors personally spend thousands of dollars of their own money to document their considerable efforts recruiting volunteers, conducting training and documenting this effort. All who are interested may attend.
Gordon Gibby has been publishing this for years and has never made a profit. He is the de facto leader of ARES in Florida, a retired MD and professor of Medicine at UFL. He is one of my Assistant Directors.
None of these people are paid. I know them all three.
Perhaps we could pick up next year’s publication as an ARRL book, subsidize their training and take the “profit” next year?
