[arrl-odv:22230] Re: Centennial QSO Party website

Again, not my bailiwick, but a few observations as a user that may answer some questions or help hone the product. * The board is updated once a day, and my total of two points was correct from my first LoTW upload of the year (Thursday night) until my second (this afternoon). * I am credited with two points off of two QSOs, although I uploaded five in my first batch. But only two QSOs had scoring value, as the rest were with non-members (I double checked). I am reading "QSOs" to mean "scoring QSOs." If I'm right, perhaps that's better explicitly stated. * Dave indicated earlier that the database is unlikely to ever be perfect and why this is so, but there is a mechanism for correcting errors. From the Q&A on the main CentQP web page: "Q Who do I write if I think my call's point value is incorrect? A Write 100QSOParty@arrl.org.<mailto:100QSOParty@arrl.org>" Although my call isn't involved, I have done this for two call signs that I worked yesterday and uploaded today. Both are actually overvalued at two points (two points must be a non-charter life member with no point-bearing appointment; unless I've missed something, W0LSD is a regular member, and KP2D is an affiliated club). I hope to soon have too many QSOs to make double-checking like this feasible. 73, Brennan T. From what I can tell, the point scheme for the Leader Board has quite a ways to go before it should be made available to the general public.
I took a look at my “score” and realized that I’m credited with 274 QSOs, however, I have 433 in the book. I started to compare some point values for a few of my members and discovered that they are so far off that it’s not funny. For instance, the SM for NLI is credited with 40 points. Should be 175. One former Director is valued at 2 points and another at 5 points. Each should be 150 points. (Unless this is an editorial comment) The current Vice Director is valued at 5 points. Should be 200 points. A past Section Manager is valued at 5 points, should be 100 points. Assistant Directors are valued at 5 points, should be 40. The list goes on. We really need to get this in control before it goes live, otherwise our phones will be ringing off the hook! 73 de Mike
