[arrl-odv:23066] September Washington Dates

Can someone advise the dates for Washington in September please? Thanks, Doug K4AC

Doug, let me talk to the Keelen folks about that today and get back to you. Mike Lisenco is in town today and tomorrow and we have rounds with them this morning. Kay is in tomorrow and Thursday. I will see what week(s) are best in terms of appointment opportunities in early to mid September. 73, Chris W3KD Sent from my iPhone

OK I now have the straight skinny on the September schedule from TKG. The last legislative sessions are September 8 through 11 and September 16 through 19. After that, there is a lame duck session in November and December after the election for a time. No one can sign onto our Bill in October though so really, September is the last shot at Washington cosponsor solicitations. Those two periods are the dates to come here. I am hoping that one of these periods is good for you folks and especially David Woolweaver who is an expert at this. As you can see, August and September are the last big push times for this initiative. 73, Chris W3KD Sent from my iPhone

Thanks Chris: Do we have a current count on co-sponsors? I hope to meet with Rep. Herrera Beutler on Tuesday. 73, Jim From: Chris Imlay Sent: Tuesday, July 29, 2014 7:38 AM To: Doug Rehman Cc: arrl-odv Subject: [arrl-odv:23070] Re: September Washington Dates OK I now have the straight skinny on the September schedule from TKG. Chris, I'm looking at a September trip to visit some of our Congressmen from Delta. I'm sure we need to coordinate this with Keegan and our fellow Directors. I'll need to weave this in with my Hamfest sked... 73 David A. David that is just excellent, thank you. I wasn't aware until today of the short window we have in September, which is pretty much the last shot that we will have to get cosponsors lined up other than via our grassroots efforts in the Districts during August and September. I think it is not as necessary to coordinate your trip here with your Board brethren as it is to get with Frank McCarthy and Matt Keelen and Steve Borg at TKG. The TKG folks need YOUR itinerary as soon as possible so that they can make appointments for you WELL IN ADVANCE of your September trip here. I am copying all three of the TKG guys with this message so you can have their e-mail addresses that way. Let me know your plans and we will suggest some accommodations that you can make conveniently. Kay and Frank and I have a meeting on Thursday with Walden's majority counsel for the Subcommittee to plan strategy for the Walden call to FCC. Mike and Frank and I had a *great* day today and we have two new cosponsors nailed down as the result, one of whom is Steve Israel who sponsored prior legislation of similar ilk for us. Mike is relentless and has really done a fine job for us. He is at it all day tomorrow as well. He and Kay are at a reception right now. And the access that Frank (and Steve and Matt) has provided us has been *outstanding*. 73, Chris W3KD On Tue, Jul 29, 2014 at 11:59 AM, David Norris <k5uz@suddenlink.net> wrote:
