[arrl-odv:29717] 60 meters

What is our current status regarding the 60m allocation? Are we looking to ask the FCC and NTIA for it to be made it non-channelized, or are we fine with status quo?
From what I understand there was an IARU recommendation.
If we do get rid of the channels, for many radios today it’s just a software update to implement. Thanks Ria N2RJ

Ria, I don’t recall seeing a specific IARU resolution dealing with 5 Mhz. I will follow up with that to make sure. The U.S. is one of only a few administrations that have channelized 60 meters. Region 1, 2 and 3 all have regional band plans that are NOT channelized. There are sub-bands within the 5 Mhz band but no channels. 73, Rod ____________________________________ Rod Stafford W6ROD www.flickr.com/rodstaffordphotography <http://www.flickr.com/rodstaffordphotography> From: arrl-odv [mailto:arrl-odv-bounces@reflector.arrl.org] On Behalf Of rjairam@gmail.com Sent: Friday, February 21, 2020 12:14 PM To: arrl-odv <arrl-odv@reflector.arrl.org> Subject: [arrl-odv:29717] 60 meters What is our current status regarding the 60m allocation? Ria & ODV, The current status of the 60m issue (RM-11785) remains as stated in the linked FCC filing at pages 2-3. https://tinyurl.com/wmn7sjj. (This letter is public.) CONFIDENTIAL: Coincidentally, today I had lunch with Dave Sumner, K1ZZ, and one of the items we discussed was this issue and what went on during negotiations at WRC-2015. At the FCC, there is a draft Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to implement the WRC allocation as indicated in the linked letter. If this doesn’t answer your question, let me know. 73, Dave K3ZJ David R. Oh, nice! Jim Boehner did point that out as well. Thank you. 73 Ria, N2RJ On Sat, Feb 22, 2020 at 12:46 AM david davidsiddall-law.com < david@davidsiddall-law.com> wrote:
