Ajit Pai, at least based on his tweets and public statements seems to at least have an idea as to what amateur radio is, even though he’s not licensed himself (in his parting tweet I replied that he would have time to get his license now). But it’s not surprising since Pai has a few notable friends in the amateur radio community.
