Attached is my best effort at providing a strategically driven agenda for our January meeting. Note that the long list of reports under item 5, the Consent Agenda, are simply to be received. Actual deliberation begins with item 6. Our success with the Consent Agenda will depend upon how promptly the listed reports can be circulated and how thoroughly they are reviewed prior to the meeting. Officer elections cannot be held until the proposals to reduce the number of Vice Presidents and to add a Chief Technology Officer are considered. Because the disposition of the two competing proposals to restructure the Board committees may influence decisions regarding the election of Directors to the Executive Committee, these proposals also are scheduled for consideration prior to the elections. Item 8, Presentation and discussion of the results of the 2003 Readex Market Study, refers to the summary document that was distributed to Board members along with the 2004 operational plan. It should set the stage for discussion of items 9 and 10. No doubt there will be additional recommendations to be considered under items 14 and 15; those listed are the ones I know about at this time (with apologies for any I may have overlooked). Doc. #36 is the attachment to ARRL-OD:1485 distributed on December 16. Doc. #37 is ARRL-OD:1429 distributed on November 17. Doc. #38 is the attachment to ARRL-OD:1348 distributed on September 25, to which I will add a covering note setting out what has happened on strategic planning since that time. Doc. #39 is the attachment to ARRL-OD:1423 distributed on November 16. Doc. #40 will be distributed tomorrow. The 23 Standing Orders to be proposed for deletion by the Executive Committee are the 22 listed in the Minutes of the November 9 EC Meeting (ARRL-ODV:9745 distributed on November 21) plus Standing Order 85-2.36, which has been recommended for deletion by the Membership Services Committee. 73, David Sumner, K1ZZ Secretary <<agenda.doc>>
