Good Morning,             At a number of hamfests the ARRL Lab booth tested radios being usedby amateurs at the hamfest.  The results were consistent with what had been found in lab testing.  In those tests the transmitters of not ONE used portable transceiver made by a "major"  manufacturer was found to be out of specificationwith regard to signal purity.  Quite the opposite was found in the large field ofinexpensive radios imported from the Pacific Rim.             This is the reprint from the November 2015 QST.                       73, Kermit W9XA
