At a number of hamfests the ARRL Lab booth tested radios being used

by amateurs at the hamfest.  The results were consistent with what had been

found in lab testing.  In those tests the transmitters of not ONE used portable

transceiver made by a "major"  manufacturer was found to be out of specification

with regard to signal purity.  Quite the opposite was found in the large field of

inexpensive radios imported from the Pacific Rim.
