Please note that ODV can meet with Howard starting at 4:30pm today (rather than the normal 5:30 start). People do not need to attend early (hey, the bar does not get there until 5), but members of ODV are welcome earlier, if you so choose. After deliberation, the Committee unanimously recommends Howard E. Michel, WB2ITX, as the next ARRL CEO. His resume and cover letter are attached. His last name is pronounced like the word "nickle" (the metal or the coin) but with an M. As indicated in his resume, he has a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering and has been employed in the military, university, and, more recently, in senior-level positions at successful startup companies in China. He has extensive experience with the IEEE, a volunteer membership organization with which many of you should be familiar. His IEEE experience includes a stint as president in 2015. He has been a ham for 50 years. We have worked with the Marriott to allow for more time for Directors to meet with Howard this afternoon. Howard will be available in the normal assembly area beginning at 4:30 this afternoon, an hour earlier than previously anticipated. The food and bar will be available at 5pm and others will join the evening at 5:30. Dinner remains at 6:30. Howard will be available for conversations at all those activities.
