Excellent, Dick. I called my son-in-law, who works in the House Office of Legislative Counsel, for a reality check. He told me that perfecting amendments are not uncommon in bills as complex as this. He also said we ought to feel good about how anxious the committee staff was to keep us from calling out the troops.
