Kay, What a neat way to do the signing. It was a different sort of MOU signing, in that Bob was at Scout HQ in Irving, Texas, and I was here at my home. The proceeding was recorded on audio (over the phone) and video (using web cams), and the BSA techs will make it into something that can be posted on the web. Voice-over narration and additional video was already recorded at BSA. On our end, most of the credit is due to Allen Pitts, who developed our part of the script and negotiated the overall concept of the piece with the BSA. The goal was to ensure that Amateur Radio is portrayed the way we want it shown. I am about to send my video clip to the Boy Scouts on a flash drive. No, I have not had the nerve to look at it. It will prove once and for all that I have no future in television, I suspect. [This message is also going out via the reflector for ARRL Section Emergency Coordinators.] Mike Corey, W5MPC, ARRL Emergency Preparedness and Response Manager, asks that if your ARRL sectionwide or statewide HF net is activated - especially during the ongoing, widespread winter storms this week - to please let us (here at ARRL Headquarters) know. ARRL Headquarters will be able to announce these frequencies of your HF emergency nets and to ask radio amateurs to please pay attention and stay clear of these particular frequencies and times while emergency net sessions are in progress. ARRL Headquarters will use the ARRL Web and other Amateur Radio media to help get the announcements out. Please let at least one of us know about your HF emergency net activations and - as always - your section's emergency-related activities. Thank you very much, and best wishes to all.
