One minor correction - the 100 mile limit around Otis AFB only applies to Massachusetts, though a small portion of NH, CT and all of RI is within 100 miles, and the Beale AFB limit of 150 miles only applies to California, not Nevada. Jim, it handles new memberships. The reason you don't see the new membership screen is because the system knows you're already a member! Greetings. A few minutes ago, the attached letter was sent to the Air Force Frequency Management Agency contact we have, Fred Moorefield. I believe that this letter reflects the Board's position on the Pave Paws situation, and the instructions that I have received from President Harrison and EVP Sumner. Dan Henderson contributed to this, and we have had a conversation with Riley H. about it this morning, so there are no surprises there. I will let you know how this progresses. Be aware, however, that at the end of the day, the Pave Paws radars are National Security related, and there is little doubt that if the Air Force wants to push this matter, we will have a difficult time retaining this spectrum in the vicinity of at least the two AFBs at issue. But perhaps this will cause the Air Force representatives to calm down somewhat and work with us more cooperatively. I'm not certain if you announced a target date for making this feature available to new applicants. If you did, I apologize for failing to write it down. Good point, Andy. Riley had an interference case that he was going to move on, but it looked like a setup and Dan Henderson suggested that to Riley, who backed off. Riley is looking at Winlink spam now, however. Cross' opinion is that the only easy fix to Winlink control issues is to have local control over the PMBOs. One other facet of the story is that, according to Steve Waterman, those who have developed an intense dislike for Winlink (i.e. Skip Teller's cronies) camp out on the Winlink frequencies and wait to be interfered with so they will have cause to complain. I have no way of verifying the allegation, but frankly, it wouldn't surprise me. I hope your trip home was as pleasant as mine. This is a view of the final approach into JFK from the south over Jamaica Bay. It was 25 degrees and gusty outside the airport and it took a while for my wife to arrive. Brrrrrrrr. This morning it was 15 degrees when I woke up. At 5 AM tomorrow morning the van arrives to take the six of us off to the Island of Jamaica for week where the temp is 85. I plan to wear and bathing suit and shorts for a week and really scare the natives, man! Stay warm. Nice to see everyone in Huston. Sorry Brian could not make it after his BIG win.
