All and Barry     My position, as stated in my 5.18.20 Email to ODV remains unchanged.     Addressing the successful acquisition of the PPP loan, NOT the publication of the limited EC minutes — is a matter of WHEN, NOT IF.     "WHEN" is not now and certainly not by a stand-alone statement. [Barry, this is not a comment on your draftsmanship.]     W E   D I D  N O  W R O N G !!!     So, we do not need to rush out a statement issued in fear in an attempt to lessen or avoid a beating by a Membership that is not massing at 225 Main to rid the Temple of the money changers.     The League is suffering and will suffer further from this Black Swan event. We will survive and if we are smart, we will exit this event in better shape than when we entered it.     Because of the impact on the League, I recommended in the A&F meeting that staff prepare a comprehensive statement that discusses the consequences of the impact on the League and its operations and the Board and Staff's efforts to mitigate those impacts for release to the Members/Donors. It has been too soon since Saturday for that statement to be ready; the reality is that there was and is no expectation of such a statement being ready for weeks.     It is in that statement that the successful acquisition of the PPP loan should be addressed. Its incorporation in a broader update to the Members/Donors will provide a more complete picture — and I argue, a favorable one — than a rushed standalone statement.     So — without regard to the current content of Barry's suggested statement — I vote to publish nothing at the moment. Attached is a draft of the statement I promised at the end of last evening’s electronic debate. It needs a little polish as I’m still trying to craft how best to convey the idea that this money was used to pay people who might have been furloughed in the near future without the funds. As I said in last evening’s email, we took advantage of a government program in the way it was intended.

I would appreciate any comments by close of business tomorrow. If we’re going to wave this around, we might as well do it sooner rather than later so it doesn’t appear to be a reaction to negative comments on social media or other sources.
