Hip hip Hooray! Many thanks to Barry for his service to the League, steering the ARRL ship safely through the icebergs, and putting up with all of us at the same time. He just needs to ensure he switches to a unlisted phone number now! 73; Mike W7VO Sent from my iPhone

Barry, Thank you for answering my tough and sometimes persistent questions. My members are very hands on with me and I get maybe 3-5 emails per day and sometimes annoying long phone calls in the middle of dinner. Sincerely, thank you for answering the questions that members ask. Enjoy retirement, enjoy not having to deal with this again, and enjoy the golf course. Barry, Yes - A huge thank-you from the Midwest Division. I'm sure these past 9 months were much more stress and work than you or anyone predicted back in January. The ARRL members are indeed fortunate you were willing to come out of retirement and keep our organization moving forward. Best Regards, Rod Blocksome, K0DAS Midwest Div. Dir. Thank you everyone for your kind words and for your support through this very challenging time. As I've said before, it's certainly not what I anticipated when I agreed to take on this position again. No one could have expected what we've all dealt with during the past 8 months. I believe the Board has made a good decision on the new CEO and only ask that you allow him to do his job. The next few years are critical for the ARRL and changes will be necessary. The Amateur Radio Service that I encountered when I first joined the organization over 30 years ago is much different than it is today. I know David Minster understands this and has the skills and experience to lead the organization into the future. As for my immediate future, I plan to learn how to live a new life in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. One I suspect that will be less intense than running the day-to-day operations of the League. I'll go back to being a regular member in the Roanoke Division and possibly be a thorn in Bud and Bill's sides. (Just kidding guys!) I hope everyone stays healthy and safe. And if you need unsolicited advice, I'll be happy to provide my opinion like every other member. :-) Thank you again for the opportunity. 73, Barry, N1VXY Sent from my Verizon Motorola Smartphone On Sep 20, 2020 7:36 PM, "Roderick, Rick, K5UR via arrl-odv" <arrl-odv@reflector.arrl.org> wrote: Hi all: Today is Barry's last day! Thanks, Barry, for everything. The League has been through some rough spots and (thankfully) changed up some things to right the ship. We had some fires to put out. In that regard, we dialed 911 and you showed up. Thanks again, and remember to change your phone number 😊. Barry, My most sincere thanks for taking all of this time out from your well deserved retirement. It was a critical time for ARRL beyond all expectations and your leadership has kept us strong and viable. Enjoy your retirement ....... and I hope someday to meet you on the air - as the entity more rare than N. I sent private thanks to Barry earlier. But I'll happily join the chorus. I think Barry deserves credit for an amazing job as a stand-in. His knowledge, skill, ability to work with people, and thick skin made his tenure remarkable. Thank you, Barry for keeping things together while important decisions were made. Hopefully your life will quiet down a bit. Enjoy retirement. 73, Art K0AIZ On 9/20/2020 6:36 PM, Roderick, Rick, K5UR via arrl-odv wrote:
