[ARRL-ODV:11809] Re: Snow far, snow good

Well, that's not much of a prize! :-) I arrived home at 2342 PST on January 24. I'm still reading mail, and trying to recover from so much loss of sleep. Remind me to tell you the story about the room maid knocking on my door at 0800 on Monday morning, totally ignoring the do not disturb placard. So much for my plan to sleep in. It was good to have seen everyone, and I hope all are well settled into their daily routines by now. I expect to be back on schedule by the weekend! 73, Bob -- W6RGG ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kay Craigie" <n3kn@comcast.net> To: "arrl-odv" <arrl-odv@reflector.arrl.org> Sent: Monday, January 24, 2005 6:04 AM Subject: [ARRL-ODV:11785] Snow far, snow good
Who will win the prize (a stale pretzel and some flat soda pop) for being the last to get home from the Board meeting on account of the blizzard? The Philly airport closed before my Saturday afternoon flight could take off from BDL, and between the closure there and the all-day closure at BDL on Sunday ... Well, I toasted the Eagles victory over Atlanta in a hotel bar near the airport. Wearing an Eagles t-shirt into a bar full of Patriots fans is a character-building experience!
I'm writing this at my gate at BDL Monday morning about 9 AM, and we are assured the 9:25 AM flight to Philly *will* go, albeit somewhat late.
Here's hoping everybody either is home already or will be there soon. Safely.
