I especially appreciate your efforts since it is apparent that FCC Chairman Powell is involved with blatant influence peddling, a fact which will certainly cast a doubt on the reasoning behind his decisions as a Commissioner. The real proof of this is his most recent role as Lead Cheerleader in the BroadBand (over) Power Line (BPL) issue. BPL is a marginal technology that has the potential to compromise the access by all licensed users to all of the High Frequency radio spectrum, not just the Amateur Radio Operators you represent. He is willing to sacrifice all of this radio spectrum on the basis of false promises by upstart BPL equipment manufacturers who are promising inexpensive Internet access for the masses over power lines. He persists in this role despite solid proof , based on the laws of Physics, that BPL causes serious interference to the use of the High Frequency radio spectrum for all radio communications users as a by-product of it's intended normal use. It is indeed unfortunate that we find an appointed steward of our communications laws blatantly disregarding his appointed charge; that of affording protection to his Commission's licensees. Thank You Kermit Carlson 1150 Mc Kee St Batavia, Illinois 60510
