[arrl-odv:20352] Chris Boone, WB5ITT

You may hear from one Chris Boone, WB5ITT from the West Gulf Division. He has a feud going with some other Texas radio amateurs. He has, twice now, threatened to sue ARRL as well as his opponents. His claims are nonsense as far as I can tell and he has been unable to document any of his rather wild e-mail allegations. Yesterday, with a copy to Director Woolweaver, I told Boone that in light of his threat, any further communications with ARRL staff and volunteers on the subject about which he has threatened suit should be via his attorney. I told him that no ARRL volunteers or staff will be willing to discuss his claim with him under the circumstances. Instead of complying with that instruction, however, he sent an e-mail to Dave Sumner and Kay Craigie and again threatened to sue ARRL unless we do what he wants within the next 7 days. I have for the second time asked that he refrain from contacting ARRL staff or volunteers about this and to have his attorney contact me instead. However, he has said he will take his issue to the entire Board of Directors, hence this head's up. Please do not respond to Mr. Boone if contacted by him in light of his repeated threat of litigation. Thanks. 73, Chris W3KD Christopher D. Imlay Booth, Freret, Imlay & Tepper.
