9 APR, 2003 - 1130 CDT Hello Rod... Looks like the R&R Committee is moving ahead on several fronts to increase our recruitment efforts... and this is very good. However, I have seen nothing about the second "R" in the committee's name. Are there ideas/ programs being developed for retaining more ARRL members? Retaining our members has got to be as important as recruiting them in the first place. In fact, if our retention rate were greatly improved it would enhance our recruitment efforts because: 1. The pool of hams to be recruited would be less due to higher retention of members and we could concentrate more resources per person on this smaller pool. 2. Higher retention of members enhances the idea that the ARRL is a "winner" and is the organization that most hams want to join. 73 - Dick, W9GIG
