[arrl-odv:35424] "Red Badge Day"

As the year long VOTA operating event rolls to a close at the end of the year, just a note that tomorrow, 12/17 from 1500 UTC to 2100 UTC is "Red Badge Day", as posted in the last ARRL Newsletter. Amateurs participating in VOTA should be looking for us, along with looking for ARRL staff members, Section Managers, and whomever else carries a red ARRL badge. I'll be running in the Technician phone portion of 10 meters (28.300 - 28.500 MHz), assuming Ol' Sol cooperates with the CMEs we've been getting lately, and if there are enough sunspots! If you get on, ensure you spot yourself on one of the many spotting networks to make it easier for members to find you. DXsummit is a great one to use: http://www.dxsummit.fi . When you get done with your operating, just upload your log to LoTW, and you're done! Hope to work some of you too! I've given out a gazillion points this year, but I need some myself! ;-) (BTW, there are people out there looking for us! I worked a guy in the CQWW contest a few months ago, and after we exchanged our Zone information, out of the blue he thanked me for the VOTA points!) 73; Mike W7VO
