Mr. Dale Reich of Seville, Ohio has struck again. This time, he has petitioned the FCC to require all over the counter sales of communications equipment to be subject to a written record of name, address, phone number and "any future information" (?) when selling a radio that requires licensing. However, he wants to apply this to unlicensed devices as well. It would include Part 90, 95 and 97. In a separate document, which the Commission seems to have lumped together, he asks that Part 5, 15, 18, 74, 80, 90, 95 and 97 equipment be tagged with ownership information, including callsign, owner name and address, and any file number. The petition(s) was (were) filed November 26, 2002; they were afforded file number RM-10641, and placed on public notice January 29, 2003. Comments are due at FCC February 28, 2003. Chris
