QUESTION: Should we (ARRL) pursue developing an MOU with the national MARS organizations? BACKGROUND: The Ohio Army MARS Director is very eager to initiate an MOU with the Ohio ARES. He contacted me and I, of course, referred him to Ohio SM, K8QOE. This incident stimulated my curiosity as to our possibly already having a MOU with MARS, nationally. Upon checking our web site I did not find such an MOU. If I missed something, please let me know. Incidentally, in reading QST, Vol. I, No. 1, I note that T.O.M. was working on something resembling an MOU with the Military. Maybe someone ought to ask our chief archivist if one was generated and learn if it holds any legal significance to this day.
