RE: [arrl-odv:18094] /140 and LOTW

Thanks for the tip Kay, I was nice to hear you and Carter on the air. I found out that Dave, ZZ does work SSB at times. I also worked a really weak signal station from AR K5UR... He was really 5-9 and boat load more but don't tell him. N5ZGT, Brian and K5UZ, David appear in my log as well. All in all, the 140 celebration has been fun. I also noticed after striping the /140 off all the calls that others have done the same. I got confirmations from some stations under both their call and with the /140 added. 73, Dwayne WY7FD -----Original Message----- From: Kay Craigie [mailto:n3kn@verizon.net] Sent: Tuesday, September 08, 2009 06:30 To: arrl-odv Subject: [arrl-odv:18094] /140 and LOTW I got a LOTW certificate for N3KN/140 for the HPM operating event. Out of curiosity, I also signed the log with my N3KN certificate and re-uploaded. This has shown that some operators are logging me as just plain N3KN rather than N3KN/140. Once I saw that was happening, I stripped the /140 off other ops' callsigns and re-uploaded. This has shown that some ops are not getting /140 certificates but are signing their logs with their plain-vanilla certificate. Normally I wouldn't re-upload logs because it junks up the system but in this case the behavior of other operators varies a lot, and the HPM log isn't all that big to start with. Just something to think about if you're working the event and want to maximize the number of members whose contacts you can confirm via Logbook. 73 - Kay N3KN
