[ARRL-ODV:11665] Re: Full Moon Today?

If we are talking about the same e-mail (the one will allegations about one of our Section Managers), I did a little research. The author's e-mail address does not show up on any of the search sites I use. However, there are some interesting clues in the e-mail. The author urges the reader to "check out my web pages", which are: <http://us.geocities.com/scranarchist/pd.html>http://us.geocities.com/scranarchist/pd.html http://www.geocities.com/scranarchist/disclaimer.html http://us.geocities.com/scranarchist/85-5557.pdf We've seen all the information on them before, but notice that the high-level path to each is the same: http://us.geocities.com/scranarchist Geocities was a hosting service for web sites. It was bought by Yahoo some years ago. "scranarchist" would be the user name of the person who bought the web service from Geocities. No hits on e-mail address scanarchist@yahoo.com either, but there is a link to it on the web sites root page (http://us.geocities.com/scranarchist) labeled as "Email Webmaster". Taking a look at page http://us.geocities.com/scranarchist, it's all about the legal dispute over the Sonoma County repeater, 146.73. And the editorial comments tell you the author is on the other side of the table from SCRA (Sonoma County Repeater Association), a group of which the SF Section Manager was once a member. All of a sudden, the user ID scranarchist starts to have meaning: SCRA Anarchist. The obvious conclusion is that the motive of the e-mail author is character assassination, probably in hopes of gaining ground in (or seeking revenge from) the apparently on-going repeater dispute. 73, Andy Oppel, N6AJO Pacific Division Vice Director At 07:49 PM 12/22/2004, you wrote:
I did not think we were in the midst of a full moon, but must be with the receipt of 3 libelous unsigned e-mails today! And all from Yahoo, as well!
I sent a complaint to Yahoo abuse on each one (http://add.yahoo.com/fast/help/abuse/cgi_abuse). With all the grief we took from them about our redirector several months ago, I take some satisfaction in sending some complaints their way.
Have a Merry Christmas everyone!
