Hi all: If you haven't checked the membership numbers lately, I'dsuggest you take a look: http://www.arrl.org/membership-stats Every Division is still negative. I suppose we are stillfeeling the effects of the dues increase but we should be working out of thatnow. Hamfest season is here. Let's get out there and recruit and get thosenumbers up and in the positive! 73 Rick - K5UR ...

I tried the link and received this from http://www.arrl.org/members-only/Page/4111... We're sorry, the page you are trying to view is not accessible. On Mon, Apr 10, 2017 at 10:34 PM, Roderick, Rick, K5UR via arrl-odv < arrl-odv@reflector.arrl.org> wrote:

I just tried the link, Bob, and it works for me. You can access it from the ODV page as well so you might try that route instead. 73 Rick ... -----Original Message----- From: Bob Vallio <rbvallio@gmail.com> To: Rick Roderick <k5ur@aol.com> Cc: arrl-odv <arrl-odv@arrl.org> Sent: Tue, Apr 11, 2017 12:38 am Subject: [arrl-odv:26358] Re: Membership Stats I tried the link and received this from http://www.arrl.org/members-only/Page/4111... I’m going to speak at a club meeting tonight (mostly retired engineers from Tektronix). They want an update on the latest with the ARRL and FCC so I was going through my email to see what I can talk about. In thinking about this, I’m wondering how much of this is related to people renewing for three years before the dues increase went into effect. I know that was frequently a big conversation out here with clubs encouraging their members to do that. I guess my earlier comment doesn’t make sense since it is membership numbers, not membership dollars. I get it now that I’ve thought some more. good point about the 3 year renewals. And with a little contemplation of the age of our membership, during any 1 year period several percent of them can be expected to become SK's. So, you would expect, perhaps, to see 2 or 3 years of under-reported drop in membership while the 3 year memberships play out, followed by a year with large apparent drop as the statistics catch up.
