Officers, Directors and Vice Directors: I know everyone on the board is very much interested in this project and the committee's work and I will try to keep people up to speed with periodic reports on how the committee work is going. The Ad Hoc R & R Committee now has a dedicated reflector up and running and we're now starting with our work. However, I wanted to call upon the whole board for some help in some particular areas. One of the first things we are going to be doing as getting an assessment on what staff is currently doing and plans to do in recruitment of new hams and recruitment and retention of members of the ARRL. Mark Wilson and staff will be putting together a report for the committee dealing with those subjects. The other part of our initial plan for work is coming up with new and different ideas for discussion which deal with recruiting new hams and recruiting and retaining League members. This part is where your help would be appreciated. If you have an idea, or someone has suggested an idea to you, about how the League might be more effective in this area, please don't hesitate to let the committee know. Send me a message outlining your thoughts or ideas and I will make sure that it gets on the committee list of discussion points and we will discuss it. You don't have to send me a long description, just the basic idea. I'd like you to spend time thinking about ideas rather than trying to develop the details about how they might be implemented, etc. The committee and staff will do that part.
