Tom, Agree this was a nice hit. Now for the rest of the story: Last week, Baltimore Sun reporter David Kohn contacted Larry Price (because this was the result of an IARU input paper to the ITU-R) who told him that he was almost out the door to the Orlando hamfest and to contact Dave Sumner. Dave, in turn, told him to contact me because he is just leaving for Taipei. So, I talked with Kohn last Friday, sent him an email with lots of background material and he produced a story in the Sun: http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/nationworld/bal-te.morse16feb16,0,2782636.s tory Apparently the Associated Press picked it up and NPR saw it. I got a call from an NPR researcher on Tuesday and went through the same story with him. In both cases, I had the feeling that they didn't have a clue what the story was about and they were just doing what their editors told them. So, I unloaded the NPR guy on Rick, who finessed the interview. Paul At 05:14 PM 2/18/2004 -0500, you wrote:

Turns out it is the 4th most popular NPR story to be e-mailed in the last 24 hours as well...
