RE: [arrl-odv:15926] Emergency Notification Drill

Hi Coy, In the spirit of the test, I sent a copy of Dennis' email to each SM and I personally called each SM to inform them of the test. I reached 6 of 7 SM's and each one liked the idea of the test. The one SM I could not reach was left a voicemail. In fact, one of our SMs got his section ARES leadership involved with the drill. Whether including the directors/vice directors in the test remains to be seen, the idea of a surprise drill isn't a bad one in my opinion. - Bill N3LLR

Gentlemen,
I have too many questions about this. Is this prescribed in any of our directives. Why are the directors being included in a test of the field organization? Do the section managers know this is coming? If not they are going to have a good laugh. As a matter of fact, that may be what I do.
