To: ARRL Officers, Directors and Vice Directors attending the ARRL National Convention at Orlando HamCation, February 10-13, 2022 This message includes a registration link for Board members who are interested in volunteering as part of the 2022 ARRL National Convention team. Volunteers will each receive an ARRL exhibitor's badge (in lieu of purchasing a HamCation ticket), and ARRL team shirts. The convention will kick off on Thursday, February 10 with a series of day-long ARRL Training Tracks and a National Convention luncheon at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Orlando at SeaWorld. HamCation will host the rest of the convention on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, February 11-13, 2022 at the Central Florida Fairgrounds and Expo Park in Orlando - an 87-acre lakefront fairgrounds. This will mark the 75th anniversary of HamCation! Our shared convention theme is "reDiscover Radio." ARRL will contribute presentations and exhibits organized to build on this theme, encouraging all radio amateurs to develop knowledge and skills in radio technology and radio communication. If you're interested in volunteering, please complete and submit the following online registration form by December 15: https://form.jotform.com/213254214468150. The online registration form will help us organize room reservations, badges, apparel and staffing for the event. Please complete your registration by December 15, so we can meet the deadline for our hotel room block. Even if your plans are not entirely committed, please complete the form with your tentative information so we can develop counts for hotel bookings. The registration form should not be shared with anyone else. If you have a spouse, companion, or other family member accompanying you-and they're interested in volunteering with you-please have them complete a registration form, too (be sure they mention your participation, so we can associate their registration with your own). HOTEL: ARRL's staff team and Board members will be housed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Orlando at SeaWorld, 10100 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32821. The hotel is 13 miles from Orlando International Airport and 14 miles from the HamCation fairgrounds. Our online registration form will capture your hotel registration information (please don't book directly with the hotel). The room rate is $200 per night, plus 6% occupancy tax and 6.5% sales tax. Our rate includes up to 2 breakfasts per day, the daily resort charge (value $14.95 per room), self-parking (value $18 per day), and guest room wireless internet. HamCation parking will be free, onsite, and no parking passes are necessary. Handicap parking is just east of the east ticket booth. Visit the HamCation website for directions.
