Ladies and gentlemen. The discussion of how to differentiate ourselves from served agencies onscene is what brought the vest idea to the fore. One of the discussion points was the need to identify Amateur Radio operators to the public, police, fire, coast guard, etc, officials. Whatever the choice I would like to ask that abbreviations NOT be used. While WE know what ARES and RACES are abbreviations for, nobody else does. A clearly stated "Amateur Radio Emergency Services" or "Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service" logo on the front and back of any wearable means more than ARES or RACES. Let us not forget the reason we are doing this and be very clear in our message to the public. -73- Steve, W2ML
