Since he copied Rick and others, I thought you might want to see this. I believe Barry was on this conference call. I was in an EOC in lockdown during Irma, when a fire department captain who was designated Incident Commander was relieved of command for behavior in a stressful time. He wouldn't allow people to go to the bathroom and yelled at a lady for "going too often" until she cried. ARRL/ARES role and we are not in command of the overall effort. It is the nature of our contribution. We don't need "Patton" so he might want to tone it down as he builds relationships. Joe is a seen as an ARES leader - but I rarely hear from him. Paul then started praising himself for his 35 years of Public Service Emergency communication experience and that if anyone couldn't take it they should just hang up so I did. I had raised another issue to the chair of the committee and was told that he passed all background checks so he’s ok. But there is history, with several members contacting me when they learned about the pick. Gilbert also was a candidate who initially did not want a background check, which raised big red flags with me. I’m not going to elaborate further here. Mickey and Ria are both right. First, I was on the call and second, it is a sensitive matter in that it is a personnel situation. Since I’m still CEO, it is up to me to deal with this in private with the employee, not on ODV. And, as I have pointed out to others already this morning, a public reprimand in the moment was not the appropriate way to handle the personnel situation.
