[arrl-odv:24897] Strategic Planning Process Update - December 3, 2015

All: The Strategic Planning Working Group is finalizing our recommendations for the 2016-2020 Strategic Plan for the ARRL. We plan to issue the Draft Version of our recommendations sometime mid-December. Included are recommended tweaks to certain , Vision, and Value Statements that the Board approved (in principle) in July. We spent many hours reviewing the Goals and Initiatives. In all, we had 22 GoToMeeting sessions with #23 scheduled this evening. Involved were numerous opportunities to wordsmith and compare the linkages between Goals and Initiatives. We also brainstormed many tactics and these are included an an appendix to the Goals and Initiatives along with a best guess of the cost of adopting specific tactics in a Low-Medium-High range. Also included is a matrix linking specific tactics to Initiatives. The Board is encouraged to review the Tactics and begin to prioritize specific tactics for 2016. There will be, of course, budgetary considerations for each project. As you review our recommendations, the Working Group is sure you will have questions and comments. We tried to be quite comprehensive during this project and think out of the box regarding our process. Please direct your comments to the Working Group so we can discuss and reply. I am working with President Craigie to develop a process to discuss and ultimately approve the Strategic Plan at the upcoming Board Meeting. Thanks again for your confidence in the members of the Working Group to design a workable plan looking to the future. We believe you will be pleased with our work. 73 Jim Fenstermaker K9JF Chair, Strategic Planning Working Group
