[arrl-odv:31299] Engaging the Volunteer Monitor Program

Is there a defined process for engaging the Volunteer Monitor program? One of the most frequent requests that I get is about intentional interference, some of which have made some popular repeaters unusable. Last April, the VM program was announced. I understand that we are still in the middle of a pandemic, but is there an engagement process yet? Thanks! I’m curious as well. All I’ve been told is to forward the complaints to Riley and he’ll delegate it out. We do have some repeater jamming issues, notably Danny Delise (who was released from prison) and a few other assorted miscreants, one of whom thankfully lost his ham license as a result. 73 Ria N2RJ On Mon, Nov 9, 2020 at 11:12 AM Mickey Baker <fishflorida@gmail.com> wrote:

“. . . one of whom thankfully lost his ham license as a result”. Most of the jammers here in the greater Philadelphia tri-state area never had licenses to begin with. Several excellent wide coverage systems remain largely off the air because of them. They do not seem to ever get tired but rather spend day and night waiting for a given system to be selected back on then stay on for hours jamming relentlessly. It is very difficult and required hours of dedication to begin to find them. VMs tell me they are not going to go and track them down, they only signed on to the program to listen up for violations by licensed hams who identify. That is understandable. Hello Mickey and Ria; I have been passing the requests that involve interference and badactors directly to Riley by email. Since he is running the VM program asa member of staff he is the logical choice.
