[ARRL-ODV:7959] Re: DXCC Processing Time

Rod, the DXCC processing time creeps up this time of year because of the end-of-September Annual List and Challenge deadline. We got about 131,000 cards in the 4 weeks prior to the September 30 deadline. Last year the backlog peaked at 10.7 weeks in early December but was back down to 4 weeks by mid-January. We expect a similar pattern this year. Wayne Mills notes that the total cards year-to-date is up about 18%. In addition to normal activity, there is more interest in the program from the new 30-meter DXCC and the VP6DI and P5/4L4FN operations. 73, Mark K1RO

Some of you no doubt watch the time that it takes to process DXCC applications and endorsements more than I do. The latest electronic INN says the processing takes 8.3 weeks. Has that been creeping up over the last 6 months or so?
I haven't correlated it to the number of applications and endorsements, etc. It might just very well be we're getting many more of them and it's just taking longer. 73, Rod
