Nope...that was why I started the email with "FYI". I know Fred personally, but have not seen him for about 5 years. In fact, this year at Field Day, my old Novice buddy WB5FDP and I were running the CW station and Fred's name came up. Fred used to work the CW station with us, but neither of us had heard from Fred in about 5 years after he took an early retirement from a company in Little Rock. In all of my conversations with Fred, I did not know he was a veteran nor did I know he had any connection with John Kerry. I was surprised to see him introduced last night. He's a super nice guy and if an opportunity presents itself in the future for Fred to provide some sort of assistance for amateur radio and he agreed to do so, he would do a great job. 73 Joel W5ZN/4 ATL Airport wireless p.s. Fred is also quoted in USA Today this morning. -----Original Message----- From: Art Goddard [mailto:w6xd@comcast.net] Sent: Friday, July 30, 2004 8:53 AM To: arrl-odv Subject: [ARRL-ODV:11022] Re: N5XS Joel, you're absolutely right. I just thought there might be more to report. Art
