[arrl-odv:34875] ARRL Store - search feature

I understand that there have been some questions or concerns/criticisms surrounding the use of the Search functionality of our store. I know that sometimes the use of search can return too many responses, but we have an advanced search feature that can help with that. Let's say that we wanted to find a book. For example, Fred Hopengarten's book on Antenna Zoning. In the search window, if you put in Antenna Zoning, the search engine will look for either Antenna or Zoning in any descriptive field of the items in our store as not to miss anything. In this case it returns 17 products. If you click on Show All, there it is ANTENNA ZONING as the 8th item found. Let's try searching on Fred. It returns just ANTENNA ZONING. How about Fred's call? K1VR. It returns just ANTENNA ZONING. Let's try searching on Zoning. It returns just ANTENNA ZONING. But let's say we're really frustrated scanning down the screen to find ANTENNA ZONING amongst the 17 Antenna or Zoning books found in our original search. There's Advanced Search. If you click on it, there's a field called Item Name. Let's put in Antenna Zoning. It returns only ANTENNA ZONING. This functionality works like most retail websites regarding generic search versus specific or advanced search. You can also link directly to an item in the store if you are trying to direct a member looking for a title, or if you're recommending one. In this example, https://home.arrl.org/action/Store/Product-Details/productId/133981 would cover it. If you need any assistance searching the store, please let me know and I can have someone from Sales and Marketing, or IT, work with you to answer your questions. Thanks. David
